Biography

Sotaro Kondoh received his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo, in 2023 (Okanoya Lab). After serving as a Project Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, he has been a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow since 2024 (Visiting Researcher, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University). He is also a member of the Keio Research Center for Music Science. His research fields are music neuroscience, cognitive science, and the psychology of emotion. His work explores individual differences in the mind—focusing on rhythm perception in music and pleasurable musical chills—and examines how individuals who perceive the world differently form social bonds, primarily through behavioral experiments and EEG measurements.
